GORGONS - Gorgons were monsters in Greek mythology. They were three sisters who were the daughters of Phoreys and Ceto. They had snakes on their heads instead of hair, golden wings and bronze hands. Their names were Euryale (which means wide-leaping), Medusa (which stood for strength), and Stheno (which meant strength). The gorgons could turn anyone into stone if they looked them in the eye.
